Job Description:

Details/Scope of the project: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power BI Engineer to join our data and analytics team. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of professional experience focused on developing, deploying, and managing robust business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. A strong, demonstrable knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) is essential for this role, as you will be responsible for creating complex measures, calculated columns, and performance-optimized data models.

Must have skills for this role: Key Responsibilities * Design and Development: Lead the end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of scalable Power BI dashboards and reports to meet specific business requirements. * DAX Expertise: Write complex and efficient DAX functions and queries to create advanced calculations, custom aggregations, and sophisticated business logic within Power BI data models. * Data Modeling: Architect and optimize tabular data models (star and snowflake schemas) within Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service for performance, accuracy, and ease of use.
 * ETL/Data Preparation: Connect to various data sources (SQL Server, Azure Synapse, APIs, Excel, etc.), and utilize Power Query (M language) for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT). * Performance Tuning: Identify and implement solutions for report and query performance bottlenecks, including optimizing DAX formulas, data model structure, and underlying data source queries. * Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, and data scientists to understand reporting needs, gather requirements, and ensure technical solutions align with business objectives. * Deployment and Governance: Manage the deployment pipeline, ensuring proper security, row-level security (RLS), access permissions, and workspace governance within the Power BI Service. * Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for data models, DAX measures, and reporting standards. Required Qualifications * Experience: 5-8 years of professional experience in Business Intelligence, with a minimum of 3-4 years dedicated to Power BI development. * Technical Proficiency (Must-Have): Exceptional proficiency in DAX, including a deep understanding of evaluation context (Row and Filter Context), context transition, time intelligence functions, and efficient use of functions like CALCULATE, FILTER, SUMX, and ALLEXCEPT. * Data Modeling: Expert knowledge of relational database concepts and dimensional modeling techniques. * SQL Skills: Strong experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries for data extraction and analysis. * Power Query/M: Proven ability to use Power Query (M language) to handle complex data cleansing and transformation tasks
