Data Modeller (Job No 947)

• Data Modeling: Design and develop logical, physical, and conceptual data models that meet business requirements, support reporting, and ensure the integrity of data.

• Database Design: Collaborate with database administrators and developers to design optimal database structures, including tables, relationships, indexes, and stored procedures.

• Data Integration: Work with data engineers to integrate data from various sources, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and accessibility in the data models.

• Collaboration with Business Teams: Communicate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs, translating those requirements into detailed data models that align with business objectives.

• Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize data models for performance, scalability, and data integrity.

• Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of data models, definitions, and business logic to ensure consistency and ease of understanding across the organization.

• Data Governance: Ensure adherence to data governance policies, data quality standards, and industry best practices.

• Troubleshooting and Support: Provide ongoing support for data-related issues, troubleshoot data discrepancies, and resolve challenges as they arise.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

• Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in data modeling, database design, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases.
  • Experience with database tools such as SQL, Erwin, Microsoft Visio, or other data modeling software.

• Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in database design and data modeling principles.
  • Knowledge of SQL and other query languages.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and business teams.

• Certifications (Optional): Certifications related to data management or data modeling, such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), are a plus.
