Experience: Shit: Partial Overlap with USA timezone (CST) Location: Bangalore Experience: 6+ years We are seeking a Platform Engineer (Contract) to support our Product Development IT (PDIT) organization. This role is responsible for the administration, optimization, and reliability of core software development lifecycle (SDLC) tooling, with a primary focus on GitHub, JFrog (Artifactory), and Jira, along with hands-on ownership of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent). This is a hands-on, execution-focused role supporting enterprise-scale developer platforms. The ideal candidate has strong administrative experience across one or more of these tools, combined with practical CI/CD expertise, and can operate independently in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment. Screening Requirement: Candidates must have direct enterprise-level administrative experience with GitHub, Jira, or JFrog AND hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent). General DevOps-only profiles without platform ownership experience will not be considered. Key Responsibilities - Administer and support core SDLC platforms, including GitHub, JFrog Artifactory, Jira/Confluence, and related tooling - Own platform configuration, access management, and governance (org structures, permissions, workflows, integrations) - Optimize tooling workflows and integrations, including CI/CD pipelines, to improve developer productivity and platform reliability - Provide day-to-day operational support, including troubleshooting issues, resolving tickets, and supporting engineering teams - Partner with vendors (GitHub, Atlassian, JFrog) to drive issue resolution and escalations - Participate in major incident response, including investigation and remediation - Drive automation and operational efficiency to reduce manual effort and improve scalability - Support platform migrations, upgrades, and tooling changes, coordinating across internal stakeholders and external partners - Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and governance requirements, partnering with InfoSec and Legal - Develop clear user communications and documentation for platform updates and incidents Required Qualifications - 3–5+ years experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or similar role - Strong hands-on administrative experience with one or more of the following: GitHub (Enterprise, repo/org management) Jira / Confluence (workflow configuration strongly preferred) JFrog Artifactory (repository management, integrations) - Required: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, specifically GitHub Actions or comparable platforms (Jenkins, TeamCity, etc.) - Strong understanding of SDLC and developer tooling ecosystems - Experience troubleshooting integrated developer platforms - Experience with scripting/automation (Python, Bash, or similar) - Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) - Strong communication skills with globally distributed teams
Preferred Qualifications - Familiarity with GitHub Advanced Security, JFrog Xray, or similar tools - Experience in enterprise environments with security and compliance requirements - Exposure to GenAI tools in developer workflows (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, etc.) - Familiarity with IAM/SSO solutions (e.g., Okta) |
