Shopify D2C Ecommerce Platform Engineer Key Responsibilities

• Build and implement Shopify-based D2C/B2B ecommerce platforms and stores.
• Contribute to both initial platform setup and ongoing enhancements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Engineering).
• Develop scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions for global users.
• Work across multiple architecture layers to deliver seamless user experience.
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and technical planning.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 9–16 years of overall software development experience.
• Strong experience with distributed systems and AWS cloud technologies.
• Proficiency in:
  • Python
  • JavaScript
  • TypeScript
  • React
  • GraphQL
• Experience with databases and data technologies such as:
  • Neo4j
  • Kafka
  • MySQL
  • Snowflake
• Strong understanding of:
  • Microservices architecture
  • REST APIs and OAuth
  • Low-latency system design
• Hands-on experience in unit testing, integration testing, and Agile methodologies.

Preferred Skills

• Strong experience in Shopify development (Themes, Custom Apps, API Integrations).
• Knowledge of data modeling and schema design.
• Ability to define best practices and drive engineering excellence.
• Exposure to performance optimization and KPI-driven development.
