Data ETL Tester (RARR Job 6263)

We are looking for a Data & ETL Test Engineer (5–6 years) with strong experience in ETL testing, data migration, and Alteryx. You will validate data pipelines end-to-end—covering extraction, transformation, and loading—and ensure accurate, reliable data movement across on-prem and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure).

Key Responsibilities

• Define ETL test strategy and plans across multiple sources/targets; create comprehensive test cases, scenarios, and test data.
• Perform in-depth data validation and reconciliation using advanced SQL (joins, aggregations, window functions) and profiling techniques.
• Build and maintain Alteryx workflows/macros for data validation, reconciliation, profiling, parsing, cleansing, regex, batch/iterative logic, and exception reporting.
• Validate file-based integrations (MFT/SFTP), file formats (CSV, XML, JSON), and large-volume data handling.
• Test and troubleshoot API/integration flows (e.g., MuleSoft or similar) across upstream and downstream systems.
• Oversee data migration dress rehearsals and go-lives; perform pre- and post-migration checks and sign-offs.
• Automate repetitive validation tasks using Alteryx and/or scripting; document results and provide improvement recommendations.
• Log and manage defects; communicate status, risks, and coverage to stakeholders.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong SQL expertise and sound understanding of relational data models and DB concepts.
• Hands-on Alteryx Designer (complex workflows, macros, regex, iterative/batch processing).
• ETL testing experience (source-to-target mapping, transformation rules, data reconciliation).
• Experience validating integrations via API testing tools (Postman) and handling MFT/SFTP.
• Experience with defect management (Jira/HP ALM/Azure DevOps) and Agile/Scrum ways of working.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice-to-Have

• Azure data platform exposure (Data Lake, Databricks, Synapse) or similar cloud stack.
• REST Assured/automation of API/ETL validations.
• Alteryx Designer Core certification; ISTQB certification
