Database Developer (Oracle) (RARR Job 5768)

We are seeking a skilled Database Developer with strong experience in Oracle databases, PL/SQL development, and data modelling. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in designing efficient database structures, optimizing queries, and working with complex data types. The role requires strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Oracle database structures, schemas, and data models.
• Create and optimize PL/SQL functions, procedures, packages, and triggers.
• Work with various data types including BLOBs, CLOBs, and XML.
• Perform query tuning, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Participate in database design and modelling activities using tools such as Toad Modeller or equivalent.
• Support ETL workflows with a solid understanding of ETL concepts and data flow architecture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality database solutions.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and high availability across database systems.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database development.
• Strong knowledge of PL/SQL (procedures, functions, packages).
• Experience in database designing and modelling.
• Familiarity with modelling tools such as Toad Modeller (or similar).
• Experience handling BLOB, CLOB, XML and other complex data types.
• Solid understanding of query tuning and performance optimization techniques.
• Good understanding of ETL concepts and data integration workflows.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with automation or scripting for database tasks.

Familiarity with cloud databases (AWS, Azure, OCI) is a plus.
