Mainframe Solutions Architect (RARR Job 5756)

We are seeking a highly experienced Mainframe Solution Architect with deep expertise in architecting, modernizing, and delivering large-scale mainframe solutions within the Insurance domain. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end solution design, ensure architectural integrity, and collaborate with business and technology teams to drive strategic transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and design scalable, secure, and robust mainframe-based enterprise solutions for insurance applications.

• Lead architecture reviews, provide technical guidance, and ensure alignment with business and technology goals.

• Drive modernization initiatives including migration, re-engineering, and integration with distributed/cloud systems.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate insurance domain requirements into technical architecture.

• Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and platforms relevant to mainframe modernization.

• Ensure adherence to architecture standards, governance, security, and compliance.

• Provide leadership in resolving complex technical issues across legacy and modern systems.

• Support project planning, effort estimation, and roadmapping for large transformation programs.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 15–19 years of strong IT experience with a minimum of 10+ years in mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS, DB2, etc.).

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect in complex mainframe environments.

• Insurance domain expertise is mandatory (Life, P&C, Health, Annuities, or related).

• Strong understanding of mainframe modernization approaches such as rehost, refactor, API enablement, and hybrid integration.

• Hands-on experience with integration frameworks, batch processing, and enterprise architecture principles.

• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
