Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP QM Consultant to support a major life sciences transformation program with a strong emphasis on quality process alignment, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP Quality Management, a solid understanding of Japanese regulatory and audit requirements, and the ability to bridge communication between global teams and local Japanese operations.
Key Responsibilities

Act as the primary liaison between Quality Assurance (QA) teams and SAP functional experts for Quality Management and compliance-related processes.

Lead business process mapping, fit-gap analysis, and align quality processes with global standards and SAP QM best practices tailored to Japanese operations and local regulatory expectations.

Conduct workshops, interviews, and requirement-gathering sessions with QA, manufacturing, regulatory affairs, and operational stakeholders.

Translate quality and compliance requirements into precise functional specifications and guide implementation, testing, and training teams.

Support system integration testing (SIT), UAT, master data validation, and cutover activities from a quality operations perspective.

Develop training materials and support change management initiatives aimed at quality and manufacturing teams.

Ensure that SAP QM processes support full compliance, traceability, documentation control, and audit readiness in GxP-regulated environments aligned with Japanese pharma and life science standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of QM with MM, PP, EWM, PM, and other relevant modules.

Provide guidance on standardizing quality processes, managing inspection workflows, and improving overall data integrity and system reliability.
Required Skills & Experience

8+ years of hands-on SAP experience, with deep expertise in SAP Quality Management (QM) and strong understanding of integration with MM, PP, SD, EWM, and PM.

Proven experience in global or regional SAP programs, including at least two full-cycle SAP QM implementations.

Strong understanding of quality planning, inspection processes, in-process and incoming inspection, batch release, deviation/non-conformance management, and audit processes.

Advanced configuration skills in SAP QM, including inspection lots, inspection plans, quality notifications, control plans, results recording, documentation, and usage decisions.

Ability to convey complex SAP and quality concepts clearly and effectively to business users in simple, actionable terms.

Solid understanding of GxP compliance, validation, documentation, and audit requirements within regulated environments.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across diverse global and local teams.

Proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N2 or above) and English—both written and verbal—is mandatory.

Adaptability to fast-paced project environments with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Willingness to travel as required.

Experience in regulated industries such as life sciences, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, healthcare, food, or consulting is highly preferred.
