Manage and maintain backup infrastructure, systems and associated automations.
Ensure backup job run to schedule and retention requirement meet standards defined.
Perform restore operations as required, meet RTO & RPO compliance requirement by participating in business continuity & disaster recovery exercises, demonstrating, documenting and publishing SOP’s & policies to stakeholders
Working experience in Win2008, Win2012, Win2019, Linux and/or Solaris platform, Virtualization & containerization technologies.
Work independently with minimal supervision, normally receiving minimal instruction on day-to-work activities.
Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires thorough evaluation.
Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Use skills and experience to identify and resolve a wide range of issues in practical and imaginative ways.
Assess and communicate risks based on complexity, resource and timeline constraints.
Ability to work in cross functional teams and influence the outcome.
Should be willing to work in rotational shifts (24/7 Support model) - Shift timings: 6.30 AM to 3.30 PM, 12.30 PM to 9.30 PM & 3.30 PM to 12.30 AM. OnCall support during off hours and Weekends.
Experience & Qualification
Typically, 6-8 years of experience with minimum 4-6 years in Data Protection, Enterprise Backup & Recovery operations.
Knowledge of Dell EMC Networker, Avamar, Power Protect Data manager, Data Domain, Dell EMC Integrated data protection appliance or equivalents such as Veeam, Rubrik, Cohesity, Veritas.
AWS Public Cloud Backups – Vault Creation, Policy & Tags
Experience with Change & Incident Management Tools; BMC Helix ITSM & Operations Management or Equivalents.
Scripting language – Python, PowerShell etc. & Infrastructure as a code basics.
Good verbal and written communication skills are required for interaction with a global team.
